How to Calculate Standard Window Blind Sizes?

Our online blind size calculator takes your measurements and provides the exact dimensions needed for a perfect fit. The method differs slightly based on mounting style:

Inside Mount Blinds

Measure the width of the window frame from the inside at the top, middle, and bottom.
Measure the height from the inner frame at the left, center, and right.
Record all measurements carefully.
If you don’t want the blind to touch the window sill, use the longest height measurement and subtract 1/4 inch.

Inside-mounted blinds fit within the window frame, giving a clean and compact look.

Outside Mount Blinds

Use the longest width measurement and add 3 inches for proper overlap (1.5 inches on each side).
Use the longest height measurement and add 1.5 inches for overlap at the top.

Outside-mounted blinds cover the window frame and can create a fuller appearance.
