The blind size calculator helps you determine the correct blind dimensions needed to fully cover your window. With this tool, you can quickly calculate accurate blind sizes for any window in just a few seconds.
A window blind is a type of shade used to cover a window. It consists of vertical or horizontal slats made of materials like wood, plastic, or metal. Blinds can be adjusted, similar to curtains, to control the amount of light entering a room. They can be opened or closed using a control mechanism, usually located on the side.
Our online blind size calculator takes your measurements and provides the exact dimensions needed for a perfect fit. The method differs slightly based on mounting style:
Inside-mounted blinds fit within the window frame, giving a clean and compact look.
Outside-mounted blinds cover the window frame and can create a fuller appearance.
While most blinds are customized, some typical window categories can guide your selection:
Height: 12–96 inches | Width: 24–96 inches
Height: 24–60 inches | Width: 36–84 inches
Height: 36–72 inches | Width: 36–84 inches
Use this chart to select common blind sizes based on window width and height.
| w x 23" Long | w x 36" Long | w x 42" Long | w x 48" Long | w x 54" Long |
| 22.5x23 | 16x36 | 18x42 | 17x48 | 17x54 |
| 17x36 | 23x42 | 18x48 | 19x54 | |
| 18x36 | 24x42 | 19x48 | 23x54 | |
| 19x36 | 25x42 | 20x48 | 25x54 |
Measure the height from three points (left, center, right). If you want the blind to avoid touching the sill, subtract 1/4 inch from the longest measurement.
For outside mount blinds, add 3 inches to both width and height. For example, 34.5 + 3 = 37.5 inches, so a 37-inch blind would fit well.
