Enter the total number of mL and the molarity into the calculator and the tool will determine the number of moles of a solution.
Related
The mL to moles calculator converts the molar concentration (Molarity) and volume of a solution into the number of moles of a substance.
To determine the number of moles in a solution, you need the solution’s molarity (in mol/L) and its volume. Moles can be calculated by multiplying the solution volume (in liters) by its molarity.
n = C × V
Note: Convert mL to liters before applying the formula: Volume (L) = Volume (mL) ÷ 1000
Given a solution with 0.1 mol/L concentration and 500 mL volume:
Step 1: Convert volume to liters:
500 mL ÷ 1000 = 0.5 L
Step 2: Calculate moles:
n = 0.1 × 0.5 = 0.05 moles
The solution contains 0.05 moles of the substance. Use the ml to moles calculator for faster results.
The calculator supports various units like mol/L, mmol/L, µmol/L, etc. Use the table below for quick reference:
| # | mol/L | mol/mL | mol/m³ | mmol/L | mmol/mL | µmol/L | nmol/L | pmol/L |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mol/L = | 1 | 0.001 | 1000 | 1000 | 1 | 1.0e6 | 1.0e9 | 1.0e12 |
| 1 mol/mL = | 1000 | 1 | 1.0e6 | 1.0e6 | 1000 | 1.0e9 | 1.0e12 | 1.0e15 |
| 1 mol/m³ = | 0.001 | 1.0e-6 | 1 | 1 | 0.001 | 1000 | 1.0e6 | 1.0e9 |
| 1 mmol/L = | 0.001 | 1.0e-6 | 1 | 1 | 0.001 | 1000 | 1.0e6 | 1.0e9 |
| 1 µmol/L = | 1.0e-6 | 1.0e-9 | 0.001 | 0.001 | 1.0e-6 | 1 | 1000 | 1.0e6 |
