The Wilks calculator helps estimate your strength in weightlifting relative to others with different bodyweights across both genders. By knowing your Wilks score, you can easily compare your relative strength in squat, bench press, and deadlift. This tool determines results using two methods:

  • Accumulated weight lifted
  • Individual lifts (squat, bench press, deadlift)

Keep reading to learn how to calculate the Wilks score using this calculator and understand the formula.

What Is The Wilks Formula?

The Wilks score formula for males and females is:

Wilks score = W × 500 / (a + b×x + c×x² + d×x³ + e×x⁴ + f×x⁵)

Where:

  • W = weight lifted in kg
  • x = lifter's body weight in kg
  • a–f = coefficients (different for males and females)

Coefficients For Men:

  • a = -216.04
  • b = 16.26
  • c = -0.002388645
  • d = -0.00113732
  • e = 7.01 × 10⁻⁶
  • f = -1.29 × 10⁻⁸

Coefficients For Women:

  • a = 594.31
  • b = -27.23
  • c = 0.8211
  • d = -0.009
  • e = 4.73 × 10⁻⁵
  • f = -9.05 × 10⁻⁸

Our Wilks coefficients calculator uses these values for accurate calculations for both genders.

How To Calculate Wilks Score (Step-by-Step)

Simply enter the values into the Wilks formula to get your score. Here’s an example:

Example:

John weighs 80 kg and lifted 100 kg. Find his Wilks score.

Solution:

Formula:
Wilks score = W × 500 / (a + b×x + c×x² + d×x³ + e×x⁴ + f×x⁵)

Substitute the values:

Wilks Score = 100 × 500 / (-216.0475144 + 16.2606339×80 + (-0.002388645)×80² + (-0.00113732)×80³ + 0.00000701863×80⁴ + (-1.291e-8)×80⁵)

Wilks Score ≈ 100 × 0.683 = 68.27

This calculation is complex; the online Wilks calculator does it instantly for you.
